It
was my first day at the UW. The day before, my host mother had taught me how to
go to the UW, and showed me to the bus stop that I have to transfer. This was
all by car. However, I missed the bus stop because the view is different from a
car and the bus, and I have to take bus #5 and transfer to #44, but I thought I
had to get off at 44th Street. I got off at 44th Street,
but it was a very different location that my host mother showed me. Totally I
got lost, so I asked many people the way to the UW. Finally, I could reach the
UW Tower. This story continued because I got lost again. That same day I got
lost on my way home because I reached the UW Tower by walking, so I didn’t know
which bus stop that I had to wait and which bus I had to take. I asked a woman
who was waiting at one bus stop, and I showed her my house’s address. She
taught me which bus I had to take, but she was wrong between N and NE. I
reached the same address as my house, but N and NE are very different. I was
lost again, and I asked again. However, nobody knew how to go to my house.
Fortunately, I am good at maps, so I used my GPS and I decided to go home by
walking. After I walked 2 or 3 hours, I could reach my house.
The
day after, I got lost again and again. I missed the bus stop again, and I
reached near downtown. I asked the hotel man, who was a very kind and very
friendly person. That day I had a placement test at 9 am, but when I got there,
it was already 8:30. I thought that I would miss the test, but he called a
taxi. I took the taxi to go to the UW. I was able to reach the place to do my
test on time and taxi fare was not expensive, so I was really lucky.
This
experience taught me that I had better research the way exactly when I go to
somewhere that I first to go.
